Kindergarten, first and second graders participated in Jumpstart's Read for the Record campaign
By RamazKids.com
Kindergarten, first and second graders participated in Jumpstart's Read for the Record campaign seeking to beat Jumpstart’s own Guinness World Record for the largest adult-child shared-reading experience ever. Our children learned about Jumpstart’s effort to promote early literacy by helping to build language and social skills among preschoolers and read The Story of Ferdinand, by Munro Leaf. Special editions of this 1936 book were available. Proceeds from sales of the book and contributions are being used to distribute books to families in need. Our children enjoyed the story and the read-aloud, contributed to tzedakah and learned about the importance of literacy. They also helped set a new record -- over 258,000 children read Ferdinand on September 20th!
