Students painted large colorful flowers on decals

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of New York's first traditional metered taxicab, our students participated in Gardens of Transit. The students painted large colorful flowers on decals that are now parading around the streets of New York City on taxicab hoods, trunks, and roofs. The project was created by Portraits of Hope, a non-profit arts, education, and creative therapy program emphasizing hands-on civic engagement. The goal of the project is to encourage self-esteem, hope, and pride through this creative one-of-a-kind project.
