Chanukah Celebrations
By RamazKids.com
Chanukah was warm and festive as the children recited
Hallel
together each morning, made and alighted olive oil, crafted their own
menorot
and
dreidels
and enjoyed an improv performance. Students learned the history behind Chanukah and the
mitzvot
and customs related to the holiday including the custom to partake in foods made with oil. With this in mind they decorated (and ate)
sufganiyot
(jelly donuts). The students also performed acts of
chesed
by participating in a toy drive for the children of Sederot and a book drive for the Jewish Home in Riverdale.
