Students Pray for Peace, Reflect on Israel and Celebrate

By RamazKids.com

The State of Israel's existence was commemorated on Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut with prayer, reflection, remembrance and great celebration.

Lower School students learned about Israel's wars since 1948, lit candles and paid tribute to fallen soldiers and civilians who lost their lives in the name of the land and people of Israel. Additional prayers for peace and the State of Israel and her soldiers were sung.

In celebration of the anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel, a modern day miracle, students enjoyed a school-wide rendition of Hallel, a concert and chagigah and Israeli falafel for lunch. Students also learned about the cities for which their classes are named, located them on a map and illustrated posters with historical, geographical, economic and ecological information about "their" Israeli city.

A great time was had by all. Next year in Jerusalem!
